Highlights from PEL Waste Reduction Equipment at the IFAT2018 Show

IFAT is the world’s leading trade fair for environmental technologies and PEL Waste Reduction Equipment joined more than 3,330 exhibitors from 58 countries who participated at the show held at Messe Munich from 14^th-18^th May 2018.  SolarStreetBin^™ ; our solar powered IoT SolarStreetBin™ bin was launched at IFAT2018 and PEL Waste Reduction Equipment enjoyed a very busy five days sharing ideas, experiences and know-how on the product with many of the more than 141,000 visitors who visited the exhibition over the course of the week.

PEL Waste Reduction Equipment’s SolarStreetBin^TM is a solar powered ‘compactor’ bin which can hold significantly more litter waste than an ordinary litter bin. The solar litter bin holds litter in either a 120 Litre or 240 Litre wheelie bin and the solar powered compactor reduces litter volumes by up to 90%. A sensor monitors litter levels within the bin and communicates this information by email or SMS to the waste manager who is able to dispatch collection trucks to service only those litter bins that are full. Sending trucks to collect only those bins which are full reduces collections traffic, reduces emissions and ultimately saves on the costs of the litter collection service. As the waste manager can actively monitor litter levels, the SolarStreetBin^TM also eliminates unsightly and unhygienic overflowing bins and the associated costs of emergency clean-ups when this situation occurs.

PEL Waste Reduction Equipment presented the standard PEL120SSB solar powered compactor litter bin holding a 120 litre wheelie bin, a stainless steel version of the PEL120SSB and the larger capacity PEL240SSB solar litter bin at IFAT2018. Along with the IoT bins, a PEL1500 High Density Vertical Baler, the ‘Jaws’ Glass Bottle Crusher range and the PEL1100 Refuse Bin Compactor were also on show at IFAT2018.
