The Framework is available for use nationally by any public body in the UK and offers a quick, simple and competitive route to purchase a wide range of outdoor furniture. All of the suppliers on the framework have been selected for their experience and ability to provide customers with a comprehensive range of products that combine quality and value. Specifically, PEL Waste Reduction Equipment will be providing our SolarStreetBin^TM  range – the solar compacting smart bins on a lease or purchase basis to customers of the framework.

Some Details on the PEL Waste Reduction Equipment Solar Compacting Smart Bins

The PEL Waste Reduction Equipment SolarStreetBin^TM is a heavy duty, vandal proof, solar compacting smart bin which accommodates either a standard 120Litre or 240Litre wheelie bin for holding street litter. It features an on-board solar powered compaction system which increases the bins’ litter holding capacity by up to x10. The increased capacity significantly reduces the number of visits required to service the bin. A bin-fill sensor allows litter levels within the bin to be monitored and an alert is sent when a bin needs to be emptied. These features let the council focus their litter collection resources on bins which are full and need to be collected. This is contrary to the current practice when the bins are serviced irrespective of the volume of waste they contain. Servicing only those bins which are full reduces collection vehicle traffic and associated C0₂ emissions whilst at the same time cutting the costs of providing the litter collection service for the council or local authority customer.
