Tommy Griffith On Business RTE Radio 1

Recently PEL CEO, Tommy Griffith was cordially invited by RTE Radio 1 for an interview with Richard Curran on The Business.

Introduced as a man who is crushing it in the waste business. Tommy Griffith, a Mayo-based entrepreneur and award winning business owned discusses the unique journey that lead to the establishment PEL.

PEL is a innovative manufacturer of waste reduction equipment serving a global customer reducing waste volumes and disposal costs. Having identified an opportunity to develop a product to reduce waste glass bottle volume across the hospitality sector, Tommy Griffith designed and manufactured the first under the counter Baby Jaws Glass Bottle Crusher. From here, Tommy Griffith and PEL grew from strength to strength. Tommy was recognised as a emerging talent within the business industry and was nominated for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the year award 2009.

In this interview Tommy Griffith discusses through the growth and expansion of the business and production lines. Due to this there was a need to relocate the manufacturing facility to a larger premises. From here, an unlikely connection and interesting family history was uncovered when a derelict factory in Ballindine Co. Mayo was put on the market.

Speaking to RTE Radio 1, Tommy reflects on his younger days. He talks fondly about how he was brought up to manufacture solutions for problems established on the family farm.
