Tommy Griffith is a successful Co. Mayo based entrepreneur who established PEL Waste Reduction Equipment in his hometown of Balla in 2005. Educated locally at Balla National School & later at Balla Secondary School, Tommy initially pursued a career in product development & latterly sales within agricultural & electronic industries after attaining his mechanical engineering degree at GMIT, Galway. Tommy has subsequently gone on to be nominated for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award – Emerging Category in 2009 and in 2016 was recognised as the Virginia Gallagher Mayo Person of the Year for his contributions to business and wider society.
